A Brief History of Magic
From the first known record of magic this talk traces the development of the magician’s
art through the centuries, from the earlies known records to the present time.
Illustrated throughout with pictures and contemporary records, Stuart shows how magic
has adapted to a changing world, moving from the streets and markets to the parlours
of the rich and famous before eventually becoming established in theatres, on television,
and now over the Internet.
Stuart performs original magic to illustrate the talk.
Each talk last about 45 minutes and is illustrated using a power point presentation.
With experiences as a professional entertainer and a parallel career as a university
lecturer, Stuart is well qualified to make the talks interesting, informative and
entertaining.
